Aidan Fitzgerald is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons

He is currently a Consultant Plastic Surgeon appointed to the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
He qualified from Liverpool Medical School in 1988 and subsequently had training posts in London and Cambridge following which he obtained FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons both in Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1993.
At this point he took a higher research degree obtaining an M.Phil. from the University of Bradford in 1998.
He then entered higher surgical training in Scotland having placements in Edinburgh and Glasgow following which he obtained FRCS (Plastic Surgery) in 2001.
Subsequent to this he spent a year each in Melbourne, Australia and Toronto, Canada gaining further experience in Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery of the Breast and Head and Neck before returning in 2003 to Sheffield with his wife and children.
His area of NHS expertise is in the field of reconstructive microsurgery, facial reanimation and the treatment of skin cancers.
In the private sector he is involved in all areas of cosmetic surgery.
